NaamDhara is made and run by Sono, an individual based in Varanasi, India ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data the NaamDhara app and website collect, why, and what control you have over it.
1. The short version
- Your counts are stored on your own device first. You can use everything without an account.
- If you sign in, your counts are also stored in our database so they can sync across your devices.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not show ads on the counter screens.
- You can export or delete your data at any time from the dashboard, and delete your account from the account page.
2. Data stored on your device
Every tap, mala, goal and setting is saved in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB and localStorage) or in the app's on-device database. This data never leaves your device unless you sign in. Clearing site data in your browser, or using "Delete all local data" on the dashboard, removes it.
3. Data we store if you sign in
When you create an account we store your email address, a hashed password managed by our authentication provider (Supabase), and the jap events you sync: mantra id, count, timestamp and the day they belong to. Row-level security ensures only you can read your own rows.
4. Contact form
Messages sent through the contact form are stored with the name, email and text you enter so we can reply. We keep them for up to 12 months.
5. Purchases
If you buy digital goods, payment is handled by our payment provider; we never see your full card details. We keep the order record (what you bought, when, and the email it was sent to) as required for accounting and refunds.
6. Analytics and cookies
The website does not use advertising cookies. We may use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to see how many people visit each page. The app stores a session token so you stay signed in; that is the only cookie-like data we rely on.
7. Where data is stored
Account data is hosted by Supabase and the website by Cloudflare. Servers may be located outside India.
8. Your rights
You can export your data (CSV or JSON), delete all local data, and permanently delete your account along with every synced count. For anything else, write to us at hello@naamdhara.com.
9. Children
NaamDhara is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
10. Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell signed-in users by email.
